Sweetfuels offer Domestic Oil Tank Water Removal services to help prevent long-term damage to your heating system.
The first sign of water ingress into your oil tank is often when your heating boiler locks out, or cooker burners go out. If this water is undetected for some time it can cause damage to the boiler burner pump or cooker burners. Both instances are expensive and inconvenient.
Water can build-up inside an oil tank due to a number of factors such as condensation (in the case of a steel tank), broken tank vents or loose connections on the top surface of the tank. Regular tank checks by one of our OFTEC registered tank technicians should normally prevent this from happening, more information on which can be found by following this link.
However, should you discover the problem too late, Sweetfuels’ Oil Tank Water Removal service can get you up and running again, normally without the need to pump-out the tank contents, or wait on site whilst the oil and water separates. We can also blow-through the fuel line to remove water residues and clean-out or replace filters. Once this has been completed, the work is completed by bleeding the pipework and restarting the appliance. Any oily water removed will be disposed of at a licensed waste disposal facility.
